COME AND JOIN US
For almost 30 years, the Polo Bears have been encouraging people of all ages to make a splash, keep active and enjoy the excitement of a truly unique sport.
Since forming in 1996, the North Brisbane Polo Bears have grown into a strong, family-focused water polo club with teams across the junior age groups and senior competitions. We are proud of our experienced coaches, quality facilities and strong history of developing players, with a number of State Representatives and Olympians having called the Polo Bears home.
If you love swimming and are looking for an exciting team sport, the Polo Bears are a fantastic community where players are supported to develop their skills, build confidence, make lifelong friendships and achieve their best.
Our teams continue to compete strongly in the Brisbane Competition, while our players and teams also represent the club at Queensland
State and Australian competitions.
In 2026, Polo Bears teams have competed across a range of State Championship age groups, with players continuing to represent the club at
the highest levels of junior water polo.
But it's not all about competition. At the Polo Bears, we believe water polo should be fun, inclusive and rewarding.
Whether your child is taking their first steps into the sport or is already an experienced player, there is a place for them in our club.

2027 Queensland Water Polo Championships
The 2027 Queensland Water Polo Championships will be hosted on the Sunshine Coast from January 16th - 24th.
The 2027 Championships will be hosted on the Sunshine Coast with the age groups per the below dates:
Week 1 - 16-19 January 2027: 18&U and 14&U age groups
Week2 - 21-24 January 2027: 16&U and 12&U age groups
Location: Various Pools on Sunshine Coast (Further information on venues will be provided shortly by WPQ)
The Queensland Water Polo Championships are a club based event and is a great opportunity for our teams to compete in a carnival style
tournament.
The costs for this tournament range at approx. around $350 per player which cover team entry and club fees.
However, to assist with offsetting this cost - all of our teams will be offered the opportunity to participate in the Breakfast
Creek Meat Tray Raffles.
Last year we were able to substantially reduce this fee through the fundraising, this will be available again this year to
those who participate in the raffles.
A schedule will be provided for each team and for those who participate will have the fundraising directly offset the fees
We will be looking to confirm our teams by the 1st of November, Can I please ask that you confirm your interest
with your team managers
and we will compile our team list.
If you have any questions on the tournament please feel free to email us (president@polobears.com.au) and or further information is available on WPQ Website
